We designed this garden in October 2020 with construction commencing in March 2021. Front and back gardens were completed August 2021.
The back garden required substantial excavation and groundworks involving the removal of circa 1000 tonnes of spoil, several mature trees and existing boundary walls. We installed a new comprehensive drainage system and gabion baskets which were 2m wide and 1.5m tall in places to retain the neighbours gardens and allow for preferred levels to be installed for our client. Upon the baskets we installed new contemporary style fencing for privacy.
The terraces, steps and pathways were all installed using Marshalls Arrento porcelain slabs in varied colours to tie in with the style of the new house and maximize design impact. Our client was looking for a low maintenance, contemporary and private space. The raised beds, material choices and layout of the garden are all key in creating this space which looks like it has always been part of the house.
The front garden brief was similar to the back, maximum kerb appeal that ties in with the style of the house. White rendered walls, bold colours and clean lines help to compliment the house with a simple layout that works well for every day use.
